Sunday saw us play Southwick 1882. It was remembrance Sunday so the managers agreed to do the 2 minutes silence at 11:00 am as a mark of respect and briefed the girls accordingly.
The divas were missing 2 players this weekend and that meant a slight shuffle of the pack in terms of positions.
The game started brightly and it was not long until the Divas got a reward for their efforts with a lovely counterattacking goal.
The game remained open throughout and it was clear to see both teams were really going for it. Southwick scored a couple of goals and then there were a few questionable decisions with the Lino flag going up very quickly at times.
The Divas though were starting to tire and Southwick got a couple more. The divas then pulled one back with another lovely counter attack but Southwick had the last word.
Divas were definitely not at their best today with the defensive side of our game not being up to our usual standard.
Lots to work on in training but the attacking side of our game continues to improve.
Next game sees a debut in goal for our new deputy keeper.
