AFC Worthing Youth

AFC Worthing Youth was formed on the 25th of May 2005 and is run by passionate volunteers. We pride ourselves on giving children of all abilities the opportunity to enjoy football in a safe, friendly and family environment. Here, children can develop at their own pace with our FA qualified coaches.



FA Charter Status

Back in 2006, the club achieved FA Charter Standard status, which is a scheme set out by FA. This is done through following best practice guides that set the standard of coaching, administration and child protection for clubs working with young people.

Team Growth

In the 2007/2008 season, the club grew from one team to six, with age groups in U7s, U8s, two U9s, U10s and our all new girls team known as AFC Worthing Divas. This was a special season for the club as the U10 boys won their respective league with our first group of players and bought the club its first piece of silverware.

More importantly, it was made even more special as we had formed a girls’ team and proved that the club and its development structure was starting to take shape and heading in the right direction with our philosophy for the future.

Now fully established in and arround the Worthing area, and with an interest growing at a rapid pace, our aim was to keep the club as a manageable project. It is not our aim to be the biggest club in Worthing. We just want to be the best we can be and do the right things by its members so that we can all enjoy the experience of watching the players and teams develop.

The Legal Stuff

All of our team coaches and assistants are fully qualified, and are all DBS certified. Each holds a safeguarding children accreditation as well as emergency first aid certificates.

Club Success

The club has enjoyed tremendous success since its formation, winning numerous league titles and cup competitions at all levels and age groups. With our U16s girls team winning the club’s biggest honour to date. The Sussex County FA Cup in the 2017/2018 season. That same season saw the club win a magnificent ten trophies, spread across all age groups from U9s right through to U16s.

Our Promise

We are proud of the things we have achieved, but what everyone must remember is that fun and development must always come first in that order. It is not all about winning football matches, trophies and medals. The children/players will learn to develop not just in skill but mentally and physically have the correct attitude and passion for the beautiful game. That is our promise.
